So, had an idea the other day, and thought "Why not incorporate strategies into the DS races?" So, I wrote down a few strategies, their cost, and the strategy amount you start with, prior to applying the stretegy.
You start with 250 Strategy points each race you enter, you must use these points wisely. There are three categories each strategy falls under and for each part of the race (there's four parts to a race) you have a chance to apply the strategy you have set up prior to the race itself.
The categories for the strategy types are: Attack, defend, and self-aid.
Below are the strategies followed by a cost for the strategy in strategy points
Attack strategies:
Distraction: 55 points (reduces an enemy's focus by 7%)
Provocation: 50 points (Reduces enemy focus by inducing rage towards a target by 5%)
Trip: 120 points (Reduces enemy speed by 10% and loses 1 part of the race, which in the stage used you must pick the correct defend or aid strategy to block or reduce the effectiveness of any attack)
self-Aid strategies:
Rush 80 points (increase speed by 10%)
Rage 100 points(increases focus and speed by 9% (speed) and 5% (focus))
Explosive 120 points (increases speed by 12%)
Defend:
Block 50 points: (reduces chance of attack hit by 75%)
Awareness 20 points: (Reduces chance of an attack hit by 20%)
Agility 10 points: (reduces chance of attack hit by 30%)
More strategies may be added in the future, this is a starting list of available strategies. You can have any number of each strategy but please be aware of the amount of points you spend on each strategy.
For example, you can have 30 rush, but you can't have more than 3 applied to a for any part, why? Because 80 x3 is 240, and you only have 250 points to spend. If you choose rush for the first three, last three, or even skip on spot, you still have 10 points left, you can use an agility defense strategy in the part of the race that you haven't filled yet. PLEASE PM all strategies for each race you participate in to me, I will compare strategies and post the results an hour after each participant has sent me their strategies. This makes it pretty fair for each participant because nobody sees their opponent's strategies until the race is completed, and then they know who the winner is.
An example of strategy in a race would be, let's take Axel for example:
1st stage: Explosive
2nd stage: trip
3rd stage: Pass (skip a strategy)
4th stage: agility
that uses all 250 points, and is a decent combination of the strategies provided.
you can also save your points and add it to your next race strategy amount like, if you have 10 points left over, add it to your 250 for your next race, you now have 260 points available for strategies.
